How
Nigel became a Christian
Up until the age
of 14 two things seemed to have passed Nigel by - girls and
God. Neither of them held any great interest until he discovered
a certain young lady that 'caught his attention'. In the normal
pursuit of love Nigel discovered that this particular young
lady attended a youth group run by a local church - the mission
as it was called. He began to attend the group with less than
religious intentions.
Whilst there, the
leader of the group asked a rhetorical question - "Is
there a God or not?" This began a discussion within Nigel's
head as he tried to grapple with this new concept. Nigel's
father died when Nigel was 8 years old - so there were many
reasons why there could not be a God; but if there wasn't
a God then there were equally many unanswered questions. In
the end Nigel decided that there probably was a God - and
left it at that.
Until a few weeks
later when there came a follow up rhetorical question - "If
there is a God, what are you going to do about it?"
The answer to that
question changed Nigel's life as he reasoned that IF there
is a God then he couldn't ignore Him but had to seek Him and
follow Him. Thirty three years later he recommends you ask
yourself the same questions.
